In recent years, Yongjing County in Gansu has actively responded to China's dual carbon goals by continually enhancing its business environment and strategically planning for the development of a green energy industry. This effort aims to establish an integrated energy base in Linxia Prefecture, opening a new chapter for green, high-quality growth.
Since the start of the 14th Five-year Plan, the CHN Energy Gansu branch has invested 998 million RMB in Yongjing County. This investment includes the first-phase 130 MW and second-phase 60 MW photovoltaic projects at Xinsi. These projects mark significant milestones in green energy landscape of Gansu as the first competitively allocated photovoltaic projects, the first operational projects in minority regions, and the first large-scale, 100 MW mountain photovoltaic projects with full grid integration. To date, these projects have generated 630 million kWh, created an output value of 170 million RMB, and contributed 30 million RMB in taxes.
In Houping Village, Xinsi Township, the community has leveraged unused mountainous areas to develop green electricity, enhancing local infrastructure and improving the village's overall appearance. Since the photovoltaic project began in 2018, it has generated annual poverty alleviation revenues of up to 1 million RMB, with an additional 96,000 RMB in annual income for the village collective. These funds have been directed towards road repairs, infrastructure improvements and assistance programs for residents, bringing significant benefits to local households.
Yongjing County has vigorously advanced its renewable energy projects, with an installed photovoltaic capacity of 233,000 kW already in operation. An additional 1.08 million kW of centralized photovoltaic projects, 155,000 kW of distributed photovoltaic projects, and a 10,000 kW wind power pilot project are under construction as part of the Rural Wind Harnessing Initiative.
By the end of the 14th Five-year Plan, the total installed renewable energy capacity in Yongjing County is expected to reach 1.478 million kW. A 200 MW/400 MWh independent energy storage project has also been approved for construction. This progress will further strengthen the development of the integrated green energy base in Linxia Prefecture, marking a new phase of sustainable growth for the region.
