CHN Energy announced on October 22nd that the largest energy storage power station in Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County of Chongqing, the 110kV Jinzhang Shared Energy Storage Power Station (Phase I), has completed commissioning and testing and is officially operational. The station is expected to charge and discharge up to 102 million kilowatt-hours annually, significantly enhancing the local capacity to absorb clean energy and effectively alleviating the pressure on the power grid during peak demand periods.

Located in the Jinzhang Industrial Park of Shizhu County and covering an area of about 50 mu, the Jinzhang Shared Energy Storage Power Station is planned to have 42 battery cabinets with a total installed capacity of 200 megawatts/400 megawatt-hours, to be constructed in two phases. The first phase has an installed capacity of 100 megawatts/200 megawatt-hours. Once operational, it will function like a "super power bank", taking about 2 hours to charge and storing 200,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity, meeting the peak-time electricity needs of 47,000 households.

In response to the national new energy development strategy, CHN Energy initiated the construction of the Jinzhang Shared Energy Storage Power Station (Phase I) in June this year. By the end of July, the station was connected to the power source lines and entered the pre-operation commissioning and testing phase. The completion of the power station not only promotes the efficient absorption of local new energy but also provides strong support for the Shizhu power grid.

State Grid Chongqing Shizhu Power Supply Co., Ltd. provided full-process, one-stop and nanny-style services during the project construction, actively responding and coordinating to offer solid technical support and service guarantees for the power station construction. The company expanded the 110kV cable outlet interval at the Jinzhang Substation, coordinated the rapid completion of the 110kV power transmission line construction for the power station, and verified related primary and secondary equipment, ensuring full power access and technical service support.

The operation of the Jinzhang Shared Energy Storage Power Station (Phase I) will release energy during peak power grid loads and store energy during low-load periods, with capabilities for grid peak shaving, frequency modulation, and black start, effectively improving the comprehensive utilization rate of new energy and the safe and stable operation level of the power grid.
