On October 8, CHN Energy's Hami Integrated Innovative Energy Base Project, with a planned total investment of 170 billion yuan, officially commenced construction. The core process is based on domestically developed, independently patented second-generation direct coal liquefaction technology, which will be applied in the clean and efficient utilization of coal.
The project has a total investment of 170 billion yuan. The first phase plans to construct projects for clean and efficient coal utilization and supporting new energy, with an investment of 90 billion yuan to support the Chahaquan No. 1 open-pit mine, scheduled for completion and operation by the end of 2027. The full industrial chain operation of the project is expected to create 5,500 direct jobs and nearly 30,000 indirect jobs. It will significantly enhance Xinjiang's industrial incubation capacity and effectively improve the living standards of local residents, becoming a strong engine for high-quality regional economic development and improvement of livelihoods.
